STIF:05 – The Fool’s Mile

Darrell and Megan venture out to the Foolproof brewery to experience one of the more…off-color…athletic events out there – a “beer mile”. Learn what a beer mile is, how it came to be a “thing”, and what it’s really to participate in one. Also… Learn why Darrell came frighteningly close to his first voluntary DNF. And in a shocking turn of events…Megan beats Darrell in a race! All this and more in episode 5!

You can learn more about Foolproof Brewing Company and the events they hold (both at and away from the brewery) at www.foolproofbrewing.com

So THIS Is Fitness is the newest podcast on the Athlete On Fire network.

STIF:04 – Fun

Megan & Darrell recap the mid-August race weekend of Anchor Down Ultramarathon and the Falmouth Road Race. They talk about each race and the experience they each had at each. The conversation moves to comparing the big differences between the two experiences, they focus on the one BIG difference…and its what everything circles back around to…fun.

Is there a difference between “fun”, “enjoyment”, and “satisfaction”? Can they exist independently? Is it enough to keep you running (or working out period)? Let’s figure it out.

You can learn more about Anchor Down Ultramarathon at www.AnchorDownUltra.com, and check out www.RunTrueNorth.com to learn about their company and other events (including my favorite – Narragansett Summer Running Festival!).

You can find out more about the Falmouth Road Race at www.FalmouthRoadRace.com.
